Jewelry Maintenance & Care

How to Care for Your Sterling Silver Jewelry

Sterling silver is a beautiful and durable metal - but like all fine jewelry, it deserves a little love and care to keep it looking its best. Being the delicate pieces they are, our jewelry is made to be worn with care -a little mindfulness and gentleness helps preserve their beauty for longer.

If you ever need professional cleaning services for jewelry, our team would be delighted to assist you. Contact us anytime

Water-Resistant, Not Waterproof

Our sterling silver pieces are water-resistant, which means they can handle the occasional splash, shower or bit of moisture (like light handwashing or humidity...). However, they are not waterproof - it's best to remove them before showering, swimming, or working out. Prolonged exposure to water can cause tarnishing and may wear down any gold plating faster over time.

Cleaning Your Jewelry

To keep your pieces shining:

  • Gently wipe them with a soft, lint-free cloth after wear.

  • For a deeper clean, use warm water and a drop of mild dish soap - rinse well and dry completely with a soft cloth.

  • Avoid harsh jewelry cleaners, especially if your piece is gold-plated, as these can strip the delicate finish.

  • Avoid over-cleaning your jewelry to avoid friction and unnecessary rubs.

Avoid Exposure to Harmful Substances

Chemicals and moisture can be harsh on sterling silver and gold plating. To protect your jewelry:

  • Put it on after applying lotions, perfumes, or hairspray.

  • Avoid contact with household cleaning products, chlorine, and beauty products.

  • Store pieces in a dry, cool place, ideally in a pouch or box, to minimize exposure to air and moisture which can speed up tarnishing.

Gold Plating Care

Many of our pieces are plated with a fine layer of gold to give them that stunning glow. Gold plating is delicate by nature — to keep it looking new:

  • Try not to rub or scratch the surface.

  • Remove gold-plated pieces when sleeping, exercising, or doing rough work.

  • Clean only with a very soft cloth to avoid wearing away the gold finish.

With a little mindful care, your jewelry will continue to shine beautifully for long. Treat it with love, and it'll love you right back.

Sterling Silver Jewelry Care & Preservation

Sterling silver represents a timeless investment in elegance — refined and enduring, yet requiring thoughtful stewardship to maintain its lustrous beauty. Our meticulously crafted pieces are designed to be cherished; a measured approach to care ensures their splendor endures gracefully through time.

Water Resistance & Moisture Management

Our sterling silver jewelry is water-resistant, accommodating incidental exposure to moisture during daily wear. However, it is not waterproof — prolonged immersion during bathing, swimming, or strenuous activity should be avoided. Extended water exposure accelerates tarnishing and may compromise any gold plating, diminishing the piece's refined finish.

Maintenance & Polishing

To preserve your jewelry's radiance:

  • Gently buff with a soft, lint-free cloth following each wearing.

  • For deeper restoration, employ warm water with a single drop of mild dish soap — rinse thoroughly and dry with a delicate cloth.

  • Refrain from abrasive commercial cleaners, particularly on gold-plated pieces, as these compromise the delicate surface.

  • Minimize excessive cleaning to prevent unnecessary friction and wear.

Chemical & Environmental Protection

Chemical exposure and moisture compromise sterling silver's integrity and gold plating. Safeguard your pieces by:

  • Donning jewelry after applying skincare, fragrances, or styling products.

  • Avoiding contact with household chemicals, chlorine, and cosmetic formulations.

  • Storing in a cool, dry environment — preferably within a protective pouch or case - to minimize oxidation and tarnishing.

Gold Plating Longevity

Our gold-plated selections feature a refined layer of precious metal. To preserve this delicate finish:

  • Avoid friction and surface contact that may wear the plating.

  • Remove gold-plated pieces during sleep, exercise, or demanding activities.

  • Clean exclusively with a soft cloth to protect the gold layer.

With conscientious care, your jewelry will retain its distinguished beauty for generations. Honor these pieces as the treasures they are.
